Joyce Baughman, RN, BSN |
Joyce graduated magna cum laude in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She worked for two years as a staff nurse in the NICU at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. Ms. Baughman began working at Children's Hospital in Minneapolis in 1982, and remains employed there as a staff nurse in the NICU, caring for premature infants and newborns with cardiac anomalies and other congenital health problems. In 1999, she became certified as a Lactation Counselor by the Academy of Lactation, assisting mothers with hospitalized infants in initiating and continuing the lactation process. In addition, Ms. Baughman serves as an assistant in transporting infants requiring extra care from outside hospitals to the NICU at Children's Hospital.
